Client Highlight: LS Power
In 2006, LS Power, a privately-held, independent power-producing company headquartered in East Brunswick, NJ, applied to the federal government and the State of Nevada to build and operate two major energy-producing sources in Nevada - the Southwest Intertie Project (SWIP), a 515-mile, 500 kilovolt, overhead transmission line that will provide affordable energy to northern and southern Nevada, and the White Pine Energy Station, a 1,600 megawatt (MW) modern, pulverized coal-fired power generation facility that will be located 285 miles north of Las Vegas near the city of Ely, Nev. in White Pine County.
Because of its excellent reputation statewide in Nevada and the experience of its government relations division, LS Power turned to MassMedia Corporate Communications in Las Vegas to provide marketing communications, public relations and government relations strategy and leadership for both of its key projects.
